Devon Owens and his father Greg contacted me about building them a Mini Kub Zag.  They'd borrowed one from another Magician for a few shows, but wanted Devon to have one of his very own.  We were happy to oblige!

(Dev had hoped to find it under his Christmas tree last year...but that would have taken REAL magic!)

They had some definite ideas on the design...one concept was to incorporate the "V" in Devon's name; a theme they were trying to include in many of their larger props.  Together, Devon and his dad went through a number of concepts and finally settled on something close to what you see above.

They sent the sketch to me.  I refined it a bit and put it together in TuffKote laminate using the simple, primary colors Devon wanted...plus a metallic Gold for a bit of sparkle under the stage lights.

A rare treat was that the pair actually visited the workshop and PICKED UP their new illusion.  We've built truckloads of props since we started, but so many of our transactions are over the phone or internet.  It was great to meet a customer face-to-face for a change!

Devon is a very talented young man!  You can read about the awards he's already won (at the age of TWELVE, no less) at his website (www.MagicOfDevon.com) and on his MySpace Page.
